AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, ND, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI

 

6 states prohibit assisted suicide under common law of crimes or judicial interpretation of homicide statutes:

AL, ID, MA, NC, VT, WV

 

Five states (and the District of Columbia) have not enacted statutes prohibiting assisted suicide, do not recognize common law crimes, and have no judicial decisions stating that assisted suicide is a form of homicide under general homicide laws:

DC, HI, NV, OH, UT, WY
