Planned Parenthood Turns 100

Get the Facts about the legacy and profiteering of the
Nation’s Number One abortion provider.

As Planned Parenthood celebrates its 100th birthday, proudly proclaiming its role in making sure that millions do not live to celebrate their own births, Americans United for Life is launching a campaign that examines how Planned Parenthood operates today.

Planned Parenthood is Abortion Inc., especially during the tenure of its President Cecile Richards. Under Richards’ direction, life-saving care and preventative care has been sharply reduced, while the number of abortions performed has increased. Planned Parenthood’s expanding focus on abortion as its core business is intentional. Under Richards, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America imposed an abortion mandate on its affiliates, abortion ‘mega-centers’ have been built around the country, and millions have been spent lobbying against any regulation of its big abortion business.

In light of Planned Parenthood’s troubling legacy, AUL has compiled this list of resources that detail the facts of Planned Parenthood’s business model, which promotes a product that harms women as well as ends the lives of unborn children.

The Megacenter Report

Evidence is increasing that the abortion giant’s future will be defined by an intentional and purposeful increase in its abortion business, and an aggressive take-over of the U.S. abortion “market.” Coinciding with Planned Parenthood’s heightened focus on expanding its already substantial abortion business is a notable decline in Planned Parenthood’s number of overall patients and its non-abortion services.

Abortion Inc. — Cecile Richards’ Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood’s airbrushed narrative cannot overcome what the numbers in its 2013-2014 Annual Report make very clear: it is a profit-driven, abortion-centric organization. Compelling in its own right, a current snapshot of Planned Parenthood is only one chapter of the Big Abortion, Big Profits Planned Parenthood story.

The Planned Parenthood Exhibits

As Planned Parenthood celebrates its 100th Birthday, Americans United for Life continues to expose the truth about the nation’s largest abortion provider. Through AUL’s new initiative, “The Planned Parenthood Exhibits,” each day in the month of October, AUL will release a backgrounder that highlights grounds for investigating and, ultimately, de-funding Planned Parenthood. The exhibits build on AUL’s ground-breaking analysis in the July 2011 AUL report The Case for Investigating Planned Parenthood which helped lead to the ongoing Congressional investigation.

The Case for Investigating Planned Parenthood

PPFA often tries to underplay the significance of abortion to its business model. However, as this report details, abortion has
a tremendous impact on Planned Parenthood’s bottom-line. This is true to a greater degree each year, and Planned Parenthood
has plans to expand its abortion business. (See also: AUL’s Rebuttal of Planned Parenthood “response” to the report)
